B. Foster is in Robin Ryan’s new book, Retirement Reinvention on pages 254-5.
Barb was featured in "5 ways to avoid becoming a failed retiree," an article by Robin Ryan in Yahoo news, Morningstar, Wall Street Journal, and MarketWatch.
Most recently, Foster was mentioned in an article, "How To Market Your Retirement Reinvention" by Henry DeVries in Forbes magazine.
The "Fifty Shades of Blue" collection is her most popular. The “Poppy“ collection is still her top seller. Her slogan is "be art happy" and she is as colorful as her art. Many have described her work as "fresh and innovative." Foster uses mixed media for texture and color to empower positive energy to any space. She experiments with color and texture and rarely uses a brush. Her current art is done with a layered scraping process and uses random objects and no traditional brushes at all.
She has been painting for over 35 years. She grew up in Michigan and studied art at CCS- Center for Creative Studies-College of Art and Design in Detroit, MI after being awarded an art scholarship. Later, Barbara graduated with a Bachelor's in Management Information Systems-Administration at the University of Michigan pursued her art and her IT career simultaneously until she retired from technology and started her company... Create Your Wow.
As a full-time artist, Foster has brought her influences from all the places she has lived; Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and Washington. Her artwork brings a bold pop of color and style just makes you happy. She is creating "wow" by selling her work, exhibiting, teaching or volunteering

Brilliance in color is best achieved by using the giclee printing process.
Giclee prints are the closest thing to the original. Museum quality art printed on archival paper using the latest technology. Foster has her giclee printing meet the Archival Standards set forth by the Fine Art Trade Guild for pH and lightfastness. The quality of her giclee prints are impressive and so close to the original.
Summary:
I use many different mediums, such as watercolor, pastels, sand, acrylics, plaster and I experiment often. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. I rarely use traditional brushes and now I use a scraping technique to create many textured layers on my originals. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.
I enjoy hiking, walking, gardening, and traveling in my spare time. Many of my pieces are directly influenced by an impression or an inspiration.
